Bremerton Photographer – serving the peninsula & beyond
I got up early on Saturday morning & tried make my people a fancy breakfast of crepes with strawberries & nutella and mascarpone whipped cream. If you have tried to make crepes then you know they’re a real pain in the ass. I’ve made them before & they turned out magically, this time they didn’t. I decided to cut my losses and just make pancakes. My kids woke up and were so excited to see pancakes ready to go with all the goodness on top.
Then I asked my daughter if she would like me to cut up her pancakes. Her reply, ‘No, I got this mama, I am older now.’ I got really teary, she is older. She no longer needs me in that way anymore. My boy no longer needs me to pick out his clothes for school anymore, he doesn’t need me to help him brush his teeth – although I think he would benefit from my help, but he’s ‘older’ now.
I am missing those days where they needed me for everything and also happy to see their independence grow and their little selves become little people with dreams and curiosities. I can’t explain how unbelievably grateful I am to have so many documented memories to look back on.
My job is to capture moments forever. You don’t realize the gravity of photographs until you’re struck by how fast time is going by. It seems like I was just feeding Cooper smashed peas for the first time and now he’s nearly 9. So much has happened, so many adventures & struggles.
I have been able to document so many moments as a photographer, indescribable moments that bring back a flood of memories when you see that photograph.
Tim & Jordan, the dreamiest. I am so thankful for all the moments I’ve been there to document!
They had just announced their pregnancy with sweet baby Dottie!
Sweetest baby Dot just one day new!
Most recently they were visiting Seattle with Dottie & new baby girl expected this fall!
Sunshine & Holly, expecting their sweet baby boy. This photograph is one of my all time favorites. I couldn’t love these two more!
Their wedding day, a complete dream. I love their style and the love they share. The happiest day.
I can remember the first time I met Kellie & Hank, just weeks after that sweet boy was born. She’s about the coolest and when I got the see them while we were visiting in Idaho, to see her sweet self absolutely beaming with happiness just makes my heart so happy.
There’s so many sweet moments made that I am so happy to give back to my clients, and really I feel like by the end of our session we’re just going to be friends. The genuine moments of laughter are my absolute favorite, just a family being a family.
These moments are fleeting, document your family being a family every chance you get.
